A rare and beautiful piece of industrial heritage, this torsion tester by the firm of John Nesbitt Ltd of Manchester is a real talking point. John Nesbitt Ltd produced a range of testing equipment for the weaving and textile industry, and this fabulous piece, hand made in brass on an oak plinth, would have been used to test the torsion strength of yarns. Measures approximately 50 cm long, 10 cm wide and 15 cm high. Incomplete but still a fascinating piece of history.
