A first edition, original lithograph reproduction of'Potato' (1928). Licensed by MoMA in 1941. Only 8000 copies were ever printed for the collection put together by Sweeney, a then leading authority in modern art, for MoMA. The original work was produced in 1928, this is a first edition offset lithograph, of a series limited to only 8000. One of Miro's most recognisable works.

Miro's genius (in part) was the credibility he gave to his ideographic, part symbols and forms. Miro held the balance of form and sense with perfect assurance. Which is visible on even the largest of his works.

A superb example of modernist perfection. The condition is very good indeed.

Excepting what appears a tiny, surface abrasion it would class as near fine. The lithograph retains full colour and without foxing. Measurement: 26x18cm inner, 57x38cm outer.
