London (Harrods Dior Boutique) Vintage Ladies Two Piece Suit. AN ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS PRESENT FOR SOMEONE VERY SPECIAL!

Following the success of his haute couture house in Paris, in 1952 Christian Dior set up a London-based company, C. To sell high-end ready-to-wear versions of his designs to the British public.

In December 1954, the company changed name to Christian Dior Ltd. London, which this garment represents. We understand this two piece suit was originally owned by a Christian Dior model working in London at the time. We also believe that this came from the Autumn/Winter collection, but we cannot confirm this. Material: This garment was made from the finest British Heavy Wool. NOTE: These sizes were very keen in the mid 50s. Therefore, you will need to base your assumptions on the measurements below. Shoulder To Shoulder: 16 (inches). Hip To Hip: 20 (inches). With a garment of this age, there are bound to be a few issues. The hem has been turned down as seen in pictures 3 & 4, but pinned up in picture 1 to show it's full effect.

There is one button missing. There are two very small holes in the left sleeve, which could be easily fixed - see picture 12 to get the idea.

This is a great opportunity to acquire something very special indeed. It just needs one or two minor alterations, and it will be back to its former glory! Primarily, a collector's piece.
